Saturday, a good day

It's been a good day today. I've sold out of my honeysuckle trees, but still have Mimosa trees and Rose of Sharon trees. They are $1 each. My garden is ready to plant but we're just too worn out to do anything else today. We tore out the vine that was over our arbor going onto the porch. It was a big job!! Don't ever get a chocolate vine. They are pretty, but will absolutely take over everything. It was about to smother out my lilac tree. Also it's crept around the house. We'll have to be very diligent to get rid of it entirely.

Tonight I sold my first plants. I decided to sell excess plants I have. I have honeysuckle trees for $1 each. I will soon have mimosa and Rose of Sharon trees for sale. They will also be $1. I wil also have orange daylillies for $1. As the season goes on, I should have more for sale. This fall I will also have various seeds for sale. Comment if you are interested or you can message me on Facebook: April Weaver Freeman. Tomorrow I will try to put up pictures of my what I will have for sale.

Spring has sprung

My lilac. This is part of my grandmother's old lilac bush. The original is over 50
years old. My grandmother brought my mother a bouquet of these when I was
                                           born.
I don't think my dogwood have ever been prettier than this year.

I'm still trying to figure out this blog thing. It's kind of hit and miss on getting it all set up. I wanted to post some more pictures of some things around my yard.

Redbud

My Wisteria

This is my Wisteria. I grew it from seed about 12 or so years ago. It has been blooming for about 8 or 9 years now. This is the most beautiful it's ever been.
The secret to get a wisteria to bloom is, give it plenty of sun, don't prune too much and pour the acid fertilizer on it. I did the acid fertilizer for the first 3 or so years and it just keeps getting better each year. BTW, it has never bloomed this early before. It is about a month ahead of schedule.

I am going to post pictures of my flowers/shrubs that have already or are currently blooming. I just can't believe that everything is so early this year.....

About Me

My photo
Princeton, Kentucky, United States
I live in Western KY which is Zone 6. I am an avid gardener. I do this in my spare time as I am a wife, mother, grandmother to 4 and work full time outside the home. My favorite flowers to grow are unusual flowers, shrubs and bulbs. In the spring I like to spend my weekends visiting nurseries to find unusual things to plant.
